I have Steam games running well off my microSD Card now A few pointers 1) Goto Steam > Settings > Downloads and click on Steam Library Folders. Select your SD Card. 2) When you go to install a game, you can select the alternative download location that you chose during step 1. 3) The game will download and write direct to your SD Card. Can I run games off a class 10 MicroSD?

Hello guys,

I have been playing around with my 256/8 SP2 and I was pleased to see that it can run without issues games like GTA IV, Mafia 2 and Starcraft 2 at reasonable resolutions+detail level and still maintain a decent framerate.

I even connected an Xbox controller, and for all intent and purposes it looked like I was using an Xbox portable.

However I am starting to run out of space on my SSD, and that's when I suddenly remembered that the surface has a micro sd xc slot.

So here comes the question, do you guys think that I'd be able to get reading speeds decent enough off a class 10 microsd, in order to run games like GTA IV or Mafia 2 off of it?

If that s the case I will run to purchase a couple of 64GB ones, but I wanted to hear first if you guys thought it'd work.
