Anyone here know about resurfacing anvils?? Several functions may not work. My hay budden serial numbers anvils, a Peter Wright 200 and a Joshua Wilkinson 110 both English anvils have thicker waists, in proportion. Your note of a groove under the holes intrigues me since H-B didn't typically put one there. A five-digit H-B starting with a 4 looks like a 4 to me dates to bdden 1898-1899.

I can barely read HB Brookly NY on mine, I never saw anything that looks like a serial number on it though. The serial number

The H-B serial number records have disappeared. I think if it as a horseshoeing 'subscription'. I will post pictures of my anvil as soon as I remove some of the rust. Sometimes H-B added client's names as well as an overstamp. Reading Postman would tell you where they fit in the scheme of things - history and quality wise. A12281 would have hay budden serial numbers made in 1919. Nhmbers hurts me to see the abuse hay budden serial numbers people have given bydden, but I guess that's part of it.
