To see your serial number, power off the camera and remove the battery. See the attached picture. Its impossible to see or read the serial number on the side wall of the battery compartment.

To add a device to gopro account- instructions say

ADD A DEVICE

Enter your Hero6 Black's serial number to associate the device to your account.

Turn the camera on,

pull down the menu and go to preferences

OK, there's no way to see the serial number and the box is long gone. Now what?

The camera password for wireless linking is in that pull down as well.

I take pictures of my serial number on all my gear using my phone. You can expand the picture to see it better. Also, to add to the suggestions above, if you put your camera's SD card into your computer using an adapter, there should be a file called 'info.txt'. The serial number is listed in this file.

Gopro Hero 6 Serial Number Location

The serial number is recorded on your SD card, if you look on a PC there is a file called misc, open it up and your serial no is there.
