Electronic Arts has announced that Burnout Paradise will be available this fall as a downloadable title on the PlayStation 3, priced at $30.

The digitally-delivered version of Criterion's open-world racer will also include all of the free patches and content packages released for the game, including the September upgrade which will introduce, among other things, motorcycles and trophy support.

Burnout Paradise was released on disc for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in January of this year, and so far every update has been available for both editions of the game.

1UP brings up a good point regarding how this new downloadable strategy could be a way for publishers to counter profit losses due to used-game sales. If they can price the games right, then it certainly turns into an attractive proposition for players.
